The Academy Day/Evening Program: Industrial Trades Training
The road to self-sufficiency is paved with desire, determination and knowledge. When our young men and women are exposed to hands-on training in one of our Industrial Trade classes, they acquire each of these things, as well as the ability to control their future.
Students can receive trade instruction and employability skills in areas of:
- Food Service
- Building & Custodial Maintenance
All Academy Day/Evening students are required to complete a minimum of 50 hours of community service. In many cases, their Industrial Trades training sparks an opportunity for them to put their skills to work for the greater good, both on and off campus.
In addition, several on-campus student work programs exist in the Food Service, Custodial Maintenance and Building Management departments. Through these opportunities, students are able to utilize their newfound skills to earn money to reduce or satisfy their court fees and/or restitution.
