The Academy Integrated program

Teaching Kids through Education & Rehabilitation

The Academy Integrated Program is a unique educational and rehabilitative program for students in grades 8 – 12 that is unlike any other.  By combining the rigorous and nurturing academic environment of New Academy Charter School with the broad counseling opportunities offered in the after-school program, this community-based alternative to residential treatment truly achieves a “holistic” approach to growth and development.

Based on individual needs, a student in the Integrated Program will participate in some combination of the following services, at the completion of the school day:

  • licensed and accredited outpatient drug and alcohol treatment
  • licensed and accredited outpatient mental health therapy
  • evidence-based group counseling
  • community service projects
  • career development

The Academy Integrated Program stresses the value and critical importance of counseling as the cornerstone for success and self-sufficiency.  Students are expected to maintain satisfactory academic progress toward their educational goals, as well as participate in counseling sessions and community service projects.  These programs are designed to support and promote the Balanced and Restorative Justice (BARJ) principals of competency development, accountability and public safety.

Key features that contribute to student success within the Integrated Program include:

  • integrated education and counseling services provided by a team of educators, counselors and staff who maintain constant communication to achieve an effective continuum of care
  • door-to-door transportation
  • three meals provided Monday – Friday
