Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Treatment

For adolescents struggling with a substance abuse issues, it can be difficult for them to recognize the impact that their addiction is having on their lives.  The treatment provided through The Academy Outpatient Drug & Alcohol Treatment Program is designed to address each student’s individual needs by focusing on the unique issues that trigger their substance use. 

At the beginning of treatment, each student receives a comprehensive assessment and evaluation which results in their specific treatment plan, including a combination of both group and individual counseling sessions.  

Our multi-dimensional approach is intentionally designed to meet the needs of each students through a combination of proven treatment modalities including:

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Chronic Disease Model
  • Experiential Treatment
  • 12-Step Approach
  • Psychoeducational Counseling
  • Co-occurring Treatment

The Academy Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Program is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Drug & Alcohol Program (DDAP) and consistently earns exceptional ratings in their annual audits.  

The program is also accredited by the Commissions on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and has maintained full accreditations since 2008.

Outpatient Mental Health Therapy

As part of our holistic approach to rehabilitation and recovery, The Academy Mental Health Program provides therapy to adolescents through our licensed and accredited outpatient clinic.   

Based upon a referral from a placing agency, a family member or a staff member, any student can be assessed for participation in the mental health program.  If the results of the assessment warrant, a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is then conducted by our licensed psychiatrist.  Subsequently, a prescription for treatment and/or medication management is designed based upon diagnosis and medical necessity.  The student will participate in the development of their Individualized Treatment Plan and therapy will be administered accordingly by our team of mental health therapists.

The Academy Outpatient Mental Health Program is supervised by our Medical Director who is a licensed Psychiatrist.  Case reviews and medication management are also provided.  Treatment is administered by our team of master’s-level mental health therapist who can also work collaboratively with our Outpatient Drug & Alcohol counselors for any student who has co-occurring disorders..

The Academy Outpatient Mental Health Program utilizes a multi-dimensional, tailor-made, eclectic approach to treatment that is specifically designed to meet the individual needs of the adolescent client utilizing the following:

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Motivational Interviewing

The Academy Outpatient Mental Health Program is licensed by the Pennsylvania Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) 

The program is also accredited by the Commissions on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and has maintained full accreditations since 2008.
