COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS BUILDING CHARACTER
Summit Academy students took part in two separate service events hosted by The Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company. The students set up tables and chairs for their Oktoberfest Arts Festival and the annual Sportsman Fest. They also set up trash cans and assisted with clean-up between events.
At the conclusion of the events, the students returned to break down all of the equipment.
We are very proud of their work ethic and contribution.

New Academy School students in Ms. Herriott’s Science Class created and observed chemical reactions through homemade volcanoes. Getting messy with a purpose in the name of learning! Well done! Pictured with their volcanoes are Dreyona T., Tyler R. and Tiffany H.

CATCH THE STUDENTS DOING SOMETHING GOOD!
New Academy Charter School kicked off the Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS) Initiative of “Catch the Students Doing Something Good!” A giant fishbowl, prominently displayed in the hallway, includes the names of students who are “caught” by staff members doing something good during the school day. There are regular drawings from the fishbowl for prizes to reward some lucky students who are going above and beyond in serving as positive role models, helping staff and peers and generally making a positive contribution to the school environment.
New themes for the initiative will be announced regularly to help students remained focused on maintaining a positive attitude all year long.

Some positive encouragement for our Summit Academy Knights Football team. โค๏ธ๐๐๐
Keep you heads up boys,,,,it not the โWโsโ that define a team, but how you face adversity. Every year we start with a new group of kids that have little experience and field a team that competes in the WPIAL Conference. This year is the 1st team since 2019 to take the field since COVID.
GROWING LOCAL
Staff and students at New Outlook worked together to grow an abundance of fresh vegetables in the annual garden.
Our young ladies have been extremely proud to share cucumbers, zucchini, cherry tomatoes and several types of peppers with our staff and community residents.
Everyone was appreciative of the delicious homegrown veggies for summer meals.
Pictured below are Sabrina M. (Allegheny Co.), and Ariana L. ( Berks Co.) with the New Outlook Academy some of the fresh-picked items.
