New Academy Charter School Celebrates 2020 Graduates
With senior activities and graduation ceremonies postponed or canceled due to COVID-19, New Academy Charter School faculty and staff made their rounds to visit our graduating seniors and deliver congratulatory yard signs.
The school also plans to hold a socially distant graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 4th for students and limited family members.
Congratulations to our graduates. We wish them all the best of luck in their future endeavors.

Ms. Aleksandrowicz inspired students in her art class to create dioramas representing a famous artwork for the Pennsylvania Art Education Association's contest "Peep Show." The objective was to recreate a work of art and replace the elements of it with peeps! Some of the selected pieces included the American Gothic, Oiron, Mona Lisa, Starry Night and The Faithful Dog.
Students and staff voted on their favorites pieces. Congratulations to Delaney W. – Oiron (Maryland), Jasmine B. – American Gothic (Philadelphia) and Kiera M. – Starry Night (Lawrence Co.) for their outstanding creations!
OSHA OUTREACH TRAINING PROGRAM
Congratulations to Summit Academy student Eric R. (Anne Arundel, MD.) for passing all four sections of the OSHA Outreach Training Program. This program provides workers with basic and more advanced training about common safety and health hazards on the job. Eric now holds completion cards in both the 10-hour or 30-hour courses related to General Industry, Automotive, Culinary and Construction.

Summit Academy is now offering four OSHA courses including General Industry, Construction, Culinary and Automotive.
Each course provides training for entry-level workers in workplace safety, as well as recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of health hazards. Students who successfully complete each course receive an industry-recognized OSHA-10 certificate to facilitate employment opportunities in the future.
