The Academy Charter School hosted its 10th annual Get Your Good On Day of Service. This year, students and staff assembled and painted picnic tables, made plant signs and pavers and built butterfly, bee and bat homes with the staff from Allegheny Land Trust. All of these items were donated to Hilltop Urban Farm. Students also participated in summer garden planting in partnership with the staff from Grow Pittsburgh.

Summit Academy students again volunteered with the Foster Love Project. The mission of this exceptional organization is to provide love in action to foster children, as well as support to the foster families who are providing care for them. Summit students and staff love to contribute their time and energy to a cause that is near and dear to our hearts.
A new group of New Outlook Academy students recently completed the Servsafe course which is a food and beverage safety training and certificate program administered by the National Restaurant Association. The program is accredited by ANSI and the Conference for Food Protection. Congratulations to these young ladies for expanding their career competencies. Being job-ready makes self-sufficiency a reality.
New Academy Charter School hosted 85 corporate volunteers from BNY Mellon and American Eagle. The volunteers did a variety of projects that included mulching the garden, refreshing the courtyard, painting murals in student restrooms, installing new parking signs and painting throughout the campus. They also installed a new counter top in the main office. We sincerely appreciate their time and talents in helping to make New Academy Charter a fabulous place to learn and grow!
