Students did an egg-cellent job on New Outlook’s Easter Egg Hunt. Many students shared that this was their first time participating in the exciting search for candy-filled eggs. They also received Easter baskets filled with sweet treats and craft items.
It was a wonderful holiday at New Outlook Academy
Thanks to a recent donation of Peeps from a family-owned candy company in Bethlehem, PA, students have a plethora of Peeps to support their artistic endeavors for this year’s art show. The art show will feature sculptures, paintings, drawings, and multimedia projects with the festive marshmallows. Students get more and more creative with each passing year.

Book Club wrapped up their 5th book “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” with the classic movie showing. On to the next book… “Jurassic Park,” by Michael Crichton. More to come on New Outlook’s literary adventures.
Thanks to a generous in-kind donation of a drum set and electric guitar, more students are enjoying the ability to learn and play instruments in our phenomenal music program. We’re grateful to The Guitar Center Music Foundation for making these creative arts opportunities possible.
Students at Summit Academy are already preparing for this growing season, thanks to the Youth Garden Grant provided by KidsGardening.org and the Garden Tower Specialty Award donated by Garden Tower Project. The generous donation of garden equipment and supplies will allow for an exciting cross-curricular learning opportunity between our science classes and our trades program. More to follow from the Clean Team Club in the coming months!
At the conclusion of the basketball season, the Summit Knights had one important game left on their schedule. They had the opportunity to take on court representatives from Westmoreland and Lycoming Counties. At the end of four quarters, the team came up just short of the victory, losing by a bucket, 65-63.
Thanks to the Judges and Probation Officers from both counties. Everyone had a great time, and we hope to make this an annual event!
A big New Outlook thank you to The Teddy Bear Project Charity for donating stuffed animals for our intake care packages! This generous donation will provide a year’s worth of stuffed animals to welcome incoming students. The furry friends have already brought smiles to our students’ faces.
New Outlook Academy… still a great place to find a new outlook on life.
