Requirements
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required in one of the following disciplines: Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Human Services and Behavior Sciences.
OverviewOur Drug and Alcohol Counselors conduct group and individual counseling sessions, maintain caseload documentation, and serve as a positive role model for our students. Counselors receive extensive training on a variety of substance abuse topics throughout the course of their employment, which helps ensure our students receive best-practices treatment.

The Academy Schools provides opportunities for employees to receive certification as an addictions counselor through the Pennsylvania Certification Board and supervision to become licensed as a counselor through Pennsylvania Department of State.
