VOLUNTEERS MAKING A DIFFERENCE

December 22, 2022

Proud to be a part of something great

GIVING TIME IS THE BEST GIFT OF ALL

December 21, 2022

Summit students spent another year volunteering with the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches to facilitate a donation drive and distribution for community members.

Students transported and sorted donations of clothing, toys, sundries and food on the first day of the event. The following day, they spent time helping folks with their shopping and carrying items to their cars.

We are very proud of our young men and their work at this wonderful event.

Thank you, Allegheny Valley Association of Churches, for allowing us to participate.

SPECIAL EDUCATION DAY- December 2, 2022

December 2, 2022
SPECIAL EDUCATION DAY- December 2, 2022 National Special Education Day is celebrated today to commemorate the signing of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) in 1975. This critical legislation granted all children with special needs access to a free and quality public education. At The Academy Schools, we focus on finding the right teaching technique to match each student’s learning style… together, we are better! “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” ~ Xunzi

Four young men recently had the privilege of participating in the Armstrong County “Drugs Kill Dreams” Program

December 1, 2022

They volunteered to speak with Central Armstrong High School students about their experiences with drug use and the implications of those decisions on their lives.

We are incredibly proud of these students for stepping out of their comfort zone to share their personal stories and serve as positive role models for other students.

Special thanks to State Trooper Rice, District Magistrate DeComo and District Attorney Charlton for supporting this critical program and allowing Summit Academy to be a part.

Summit Academy Photography student recently visited the National Aviary in Pittsburgh thanks to Tickets for Kids.

November 21, 2022

This non-profit agency provides our young men with exceptional cultural, educational and recreational opportunities.

During this trip, the boys learned about and captured images of amazing birds from all over the world.

It was an awesome day for all and the photos reflect the great photography skills that the young men are learning.

Well done, boys and THANK YOU, Tickets for Kids!!!
