Summit Academy students again volunteered with the Foster Love Project. The mission of this exceptional organization is to provide love in action to foster children, as well as support to the foster families who are providing care for them. Summit students and staff love to contribute their time and energy to a cause that is near and dear to our hearts.

The Summit Academy silk-screen program recently completed a print job for local organization. Our students utilized the image provided by the organization to create a transparency and the use a florescent light table to burn the image onto the print screen. The students are not only learning valuable employability skills while participating in this project but also earn community service hours.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to the Summit Academy Knights Baseball team for clinching their first playoff berth in school history with an impressive win over Sto-Rox!

Four Summit Academy students passed their AWS D1.1 Welding Certification. The AWS D1.1 Welding Certification program is designed to prepare individuals for entry-level employment within the field of welding technology. … The curriculum focuses on Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) safety practices and the AWS structural code.

Once again Summit Academy participated in the Adopt-a-School outreach program at Valley High School. Three young men spent their day speaking to freshman students about the importance of positive decision making and the consequences that inappropriate choices have had on their lives. They also talked about a typical day in the life of a student at Summit Academy. Matt Saxman from the New Kensington police department, who also teaches a criminal justice class at Valley High, joined the discussions. #givingback

Summit Academy students are once again volunteering at St. Mary’s for their annual Fish Fry Fridays. Students used signs made on campus to facilitate parking for guests attending the event and you know what usually follows the start of Fish Fry season… SPRING!!!!?
