"I was the first one to milk the goat," said Hayden. "I was like, 'you know what? Let's do it!'" 
Goat Rodeo Farm & Dairy hosted our students for a fieldtrip filled with new interactive experiences, including cheese & caramel tasting
, cheese making, goat milking, games, and apple picking
.
During the cheese making, Hayden added cinnamon & cinnamon sugar to her creation for a sweeter, more dessert-like cheese. The process also included making a creative name and logo for her cheese. In addition to taking home their created cheeses, the farm also gifted each student with temporary tattoos and goat pictures as keepsakes.
This trip to the farm was funded through a generous grant provided by U.S. Department of Agriculture and Penn State through the school's PA Harvest of the Month Art Contest Grant. We're grateful to our funders as well as Goat Rodeo Farm & Dairy for their wonderfully curated fieldtrip.
Hayden says it best, when she talks about what the experience meant to her: "I never got to be a kid growing up but this made me feel like a kid again. I had the best time of my life out there."
