Beverly’s Birthdays and students at New Outlook Academy celebrated this month’s birthdays in the most exciting way — with their very own Olympic Games!
Students competed in fun, high-energy challenges, showed off their teamwork skills, and cheered each other on every step of the way. The spirit of friendly competition filled the room as everyone joined in the celebration.
It was a fantastic way to honor our birthday students — with laughter, movement, and plenty of gold-medal moments! ![]()
We’re excited to announce the start of our new Fitness Club at New Outlook Academy! Students are getting active and building healthy habits through structured workouts.
The club focuses on cardio training on the treadmills and strength-building with light weights, helping students improve endurance, strength, and overall wellness. It’s a great way for students to stay active, learn proper fitness techniques, and support one another in a positive environment.
We’re proud to see our students moving, growing, and investing in their health—one workout at a time!

Our students recently participated in the Healthy Choices for Students program through UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, an engaging initiative focused on cancer prevention, nutrition, and overall wellness.
Through interactive presentations, students learned how to make healthier choices when it comes to their food, how to read and understand nutrition labels, and how the food pyramid helps guide balanced meals. The program also emphasized the importance of healthy habits, including tobacco and vaping prevention.
As part of the experience, students had the opportunity to make healthier snacks and taste them, helping reinforce that nutritious choices can also be enjoyable and delicious! ![]()

New Outlook Academy proudly hosted its 2nd Quarter Student Awards Ceremony, celebrating student achievement, growth, and positive contributions across our school community.
Students were recognized for accomplishments such as Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, Student of the Month/Quarter, and character-based awards including Kindness, Positive Peer, and Most Improved. The ceremony also honored students who completed Photography and Culture Club, highlighting creativity and cultural exploration.
The celebration reinforced our commitment to supporting every student’s success and recognizing the hard work and dedication that help them reach their full potential.
This month, New Outlook Academy proudly recognizes Black History Month, honoring the achievements, resilience, and lasting contributions of Black leaders, innovators, and communities throughout history.

Recently, the Culture Club explored the vibrant culture of Venezuela, learning about its breathtaking landscapes, rich traditions, and delicious cuisine. Students discovered Angel Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in the world, located in Canaima National Park.
Club members listened to—and even danced along with—traditional Venezuelan music, then rolled up their sleeves to make and taste arepas, a beloved cornmeal flatbread central to Venezuelan cuisine. To wrap up the experience, students played bolas criollas, a traditional Venezuelan team game similar to bocce ball.
Everyone had a great time, sharing plenty of laughs and making lasting memories along the way! ![]()

We are so proud of New Outlook Academy student Sophie for stepping into the spotlight as a Guest DJ at Y108, Pittsburgh’s Country Radio!
Sophie is truly living the dream, and experiences like this show what’s possible when passion meets opportunity. Watching our students explore their interests and shine in real-world settings is what it’s all about at New Outlook Academy.
A huge thank you to Y108 for making this incredible opportunity possible for our kids. We appreciate your support and for helping create memories that will last a lifetime!
After lots of hard work and positive performance, this amazing group of students hit the ice for some well-deserved fun and laughter!
We are incredibly proud of their growth and progress — both in the classroom and on the rink. Keep shining and keep up the great work, ladies!
