Alumni Victor S. (Indiana Co.) wanted to express his thanks to Summit Academy for the time he spent on campus, saying "being at Summit was the best thing that could have possibly happen in my life to make it better and help me achieve my goals!"
While at Summit Academy, Victor attended Auto Mechanics and Digital Media trade classes and participated in the Food Service Student Work Program.
He also earned his OSHA-10 certification in Automotive and General Industry, as well as his ServSafe Food Handler certificate. He was also a member of the Summit Academy Book Club.
This fall, Victor will be attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania to pursue a college degree.
We are very proud of you, Victor, and wish you well in all of your future endeavors. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds for this young man!
OSHA OUTREACH TRAINING PROGRAM
Congratulations to Summit Academy student Eric R. (Anne Arundel, MD.) for passing all four sections of the OSHA Outreach Training Program. This program provides workers with basic and more advanced training about common safety and health hazards on the job. Eric now holds completion cards in both the 10-hour or 30-hour courses related to General Industry, Automotive, Culinary and Construction.

Summit Academy is now offering four OSHA courses including General Industry, Construction, Culinary and Automotive.
Each course provides training for entry-level workers in workplace safety, as well as recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of health hazards. Students who successfully complete each course receive an industry-recognized OSHA-10 certificate to facilitate employment opportunities in the future.

Students in Ms. Royal's Health and PE class are working on describing the relationship between health and wellness. They were asked to find various ways to describe the three categories of the health triangle (social health, physical health and mental/emotional health) proving the point that all aspects of our life and the world around us can be traced back to one of the three areas of health and well-being.
