NEW OUTLOOK BOOK CLUB SELECTS NEW TITLE

The New Outlook Academy Book Club has selected its next book. “Thick: And Other Essays” by the American sociologist, professor, and writer Tressie McMillan Cottom is a 2019 collection of essays that explores a range of topics, including womanhood, body image, and social media. It also covers the author’s experience as a southern black woman in academia. Thick was a finalist for the 2019 National Book Award.
Twenty-five young ladies have joined the book club for this reading, which will involve group chapter reviews and discussions.
We are thrilled with the interest, excitement, and enthusiasm demonstrated by the students participating in this thought-provoking group activity.
