There is no shortage of exciting things to do at the Carnegie Science Center as our girls discovered during their recent visit. Making the most of every opportunity to experience learning and fun that are out of this world!
Once again Summit Academy participated in the Adopt-a-School outreach program at Valley High School. Three young men spent their day speaking to freshman students about the importance of positive decision making and the consequences that inappropriate choices have had on their lives. They also talked about a typical day in the life of a student at Summit Academy. Matt Saxman from the New Kensington police department, who also teaches a criminal justice class at Valley High, joined the discussions. #givingback
Students at New Outlook Academy recently completed their First Aid/CPR certification through the American Heart Association. We are very proud of the 18 students who passed the test and can add this accomplishment to their employment portfolio. ♥️♥️
Summit Academy students are once again volunteering at St. Mary’s for their annual Fish Fry Fridays. Students used signs made on campus to facilitate parking for guests attending the event and you know what usually follows the start of Fish Fry season… SPRING!!!!?
Students once again visited the Wrapped in Love Program to continue crocheting squares for the blankets that will be assembled and donated to area hospitals to provide comfort for patients recovering from serious illness. Proud to be a part of such a wonderful organization whose mission is “blanketing the world with hope.”
The latest creation in the New Outlook Academy STEAM lab will surely be a hit… cell phone stands!! The digital design and build was first completed on the laptop and then sent to the lab’s 3-D printer for production. Mackenzie proudly displays the stand that plans to give her grandmother… such a sweet idea!!!
Congratulations
