Career and technical skills are provided in many industries at Summit Academy and these two young men are making the most of their opportunities.
Summit Academy students Carl L.(Philadelphia), Marquan H. (Allegheny Co.), Elijah F. (Monroe), Danny M. (Raliegh, WV), and Ethan M. (Riverside, CA) had the opportunity to volunteer at Elliot Acres Riding Center. Elliot Acres is a therapeutic equestrian riding center for children with disabilities. During the two days that the students were there, they installed fence posts for a new fence surrounding an apple tree to divert the horses away from enjoying the apples. On day two, the students performed additional landscape projects! This is one of our favorite community service project venues and we thank Elliot Acres for the invitation to contribute to their mission.
Summit Academy student Jandell N. (Berks Co.) took the American Welding Society D1.1 Welder Qualification Test. We encourage our students to work toward testing as one of the best ways to advance their welding career opportunities. These specialized certifications are incredibly valuable for employment in the welding industry. Congrats Jandell!!!!
Congratulations to Summit Academy student Vincent B. (Delaware) for earning his sawblade certificate through the Woodwork Career Alliance (WCA). This credential carries weight in the woodworking world and is PACTT recognized. Summit Academy trades instructor Don Blankenship stated that Vincent is a very talented young man and has the potential to do well in this field.
The Academy Schools would like to thank Global Links for supplying Summit Academy, New Outlook Academy and New Academy Charter School with personal protective equipment during the pandemic! Congratulations boys and keep up the good work!
Summit Academy students Dillion E. (Blair Co.), Christian B. (Westmoreland Co.), and Danny M. (Raleigh, WV), enjoy the Carrera Race Track that was recently built as part of the Summit Academy Recreational Program.
The track uses Race Coordinator (RC) software that displays each student’s name,…
