Hello. I was a student at Summit in 2007. I was just thinking about my time there and I have to say that it helped shape me into the person I have become. Since my departure I had some up's and down's but life has really been shaping up for me and one of the staples was being given the chance to spend my time there. I just wanted to forward my appreciation and thank you. Christopher
It will be extremely difficult to replace the impact that Steve Sherer has on our staff and students every day at Summit Academy. But his 42-year career will serve as a legacy and a model for future coaches and counselors alike. Thank you Mr. Sherer.
Summit Academy faculty and staff are extremely proud of the students who were named to the Honor Roll for the most recent grading period. We recognized 30 students who achieved honor roll, 18 who achieved high honors and 12 students who earned distinguished honors for attaining a 4.0 grade point average. Congratulations boys and keep up the good work!
A big congratulations to our GED graduates who participated in the Butler County Community College Commencement Ceremony. Arthur Stewart, a BC3 instructor and GED instructor at Summit Academy had the honor of addressing the graduates. In his remarks, Art shared, “Everybody here bears witness to the culmination of your achievements. This is a beginning for many of you. The only thing that will hold you back is you. You have achieved your academic goals, but others lie before you." Also addressing his fellow students was Summit graduate, Quentin T. We are so excited to see what these bright students accomplish next! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
The Summit Academy Knights are hard at work on the gridiron preparing for fall kick-off.. Mark your calendars so you can come and support the team! LET’S GO KNIGHTS!!!!
Summit Academy is currently offering a summer college course to 10 young men. The history course, titled The World in the 20th Century, is offered on campus through our partnership with Butler County Community College through the College within the High School Program. Course instructor, Mr. Stewart, is also a GED instructor at Summit Academy. We hope this program continues to inspire Summit students to always "THINK COLLEGE".
We are proud to announce that on June 21st Summit Academy celebrated graduation for 23 exceptional young men. Friends, family, and faculty gathered to support the graduates on their big day. The commencement ceremony included vocal performances from students Brandon D. and Bailey E, as well as an inspiring message from our guest speaker, The Honorable Michelle G. Bononi. Following the graduation, students and their families were treated to a celebration and dinner hosted by The Summit Academy Food Services Department. Congratulations to the Class of 2018 and good luck in your future endeavors.
Building Community Through Giving Summit Academy students had the opportunity to volunteer at the Elliott Acres Therapeutic Riding Center. Elliott Acres aims to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional status of riders by teaching basic horsemanship principals which assist in improving the riders' movement, concentration, and communication. Summit Academy students assisted with maintenance projects at the Center and also learned about the important work being done through the therapy offered. We look forward to continuing this wonderful partnership.
