Varsity & Intramural Activities
We use athletics as a lesson for learning to win in life and not just in the game.
Learning to handle pressure and opposition is invaluable experience for creating positive momentum in life.
Whether competing in a varsity sport, intramurals or supporting as a fan, we utilize athletics as an exceptional opportunity for our kids to practice the skills they are learning on a daily basis… cooperation, collaboration, compromise and resilience are key concepts being refined through this aspect of life at Summit Academy.
By competing in any one of six different WPIAL sports, the Summit Academy Knights learn life lessons and uncover a sense of strength and pride that is inherent to being a member of a productive and encouraging team. Additionally, essential concepts such as teamwork, respect, trust and dedication are fostered through participation.
The following varsity sports and clubs are offered at Summit Academy.

Fieldtrips & Off-Campus Activities
Our students reside in rural Butler County while at Summit Academy. However, the proximity to Pittsburgh makes it easy for them to regularly experience new situations, cultures and lifestyles. Nearly every weekend, our students attend off-campus activities which may include the ballet, professional or collegiate sporting events, museum trips, historical landmarks, the zoo or other unique events. As a result, they return to their home and community with a broader sense of the world and their place in it.
