Thanks to our continued partnership with Y108 Pittsburgh, Breackann O. had the exciting opportunity to step inside the world of country radio. From going on-air to exploring the behind-the-scenes operations of a live radio station, Breackann experienced firsthand what it takes to bring a broadcast to life.
During the visit, Breackann also shared her personal journey at New Outlook Academy, speaking about the growth, confidence, and opportunities she has found while attending our school.
Experiences like these help our students discover new interests, build self-confidence, and see the many possibilities that await them beyond the classroom.

The Empower students at Summit Academy recently enjoyed a fun and engaging off-campus field trip to the Museum of Illusions in Pittsburgh!
Students explored more than 60 interactive exhibits that challenged their senses, sparked curiosity, and revealed the science behind fascinating optical illusions. From mind-bending displays to immersive experiences, there were plenty of opportunities to learn, laugh, and see the world from a whole new perspective.
Experiences like these encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving while creating lasting memories outside the classroom.

For nearly 10 years, New Outlook Academy has proudly partnered with Horses with Hope through a meaningful community service project that has made a lasting impact on both our students and the community.
Horses with Hope is dedicated to improving the lives of children, youth, and adults with special needs by providing safe, high-quality equine-assisted programs.
Our students are honored to play a small part in supporting this amazing organization year after year. Community service experiences like these teach compassion, teamwork, and the importance of giving back while making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Students at Summit Academy, recently participated in an interactive medication safety presentation led by Linnay Kirst, Project Coordinator with Keystone Wellness.
During the session, students learned about the importance of using prescription medications safely, understanding warning labels, taking medications only as directed, and the dangers of medication misuse. They had thoughtful discussions about healthy alternatives, ways to support friends who may be struggling, and why medication safety is so important.
The lesson wrapped up with a fun Jeopardy-style quiz game that had all three teams finishing with a perfect score!
We are proud of our students for their outstanding participation, insightful questions, and willingness to engage in meaningful conversations that help build healthy habits and informed decision-making.

We are proud to recognize the incredible accomplishments of our students during our 4th Quarter Awards Ceremony!
This special celebration honored students for their hard work, dedication, and positive contributions throughout the quarter. Awards were presented for Honor Roll, Student of the Month, Perfect Attendance, Outstanding Achievement, Positive Peers, Community Service, and participation in our Book Club, Photography Club, Fitness Club, Bakery Club, and Chicken Club.
Every award represents perseverance, growth, and a commitment to becoming the best version of themselves. We are so proud of all of our students and grateful to our dedicated staff who encourage and support them every step of the way.

Students enjoyed the annual wiffle ball game, bringing plenty of energy, teamwork, and friendly competition to the field. This year’s special guests included Joe Klimchak, in-game host for the Pittsburgh Pirates, along with Jalapeño Hannah, who helped make the afternoon extra fun and memorable.
Students were divided into four teams and competed throughout the day, with the Blue Team coming out on top as the championship winners!
The excitement didn’t stop there—staff and Jalapeño Hannah also took part in the crowd-favorite “Pierogi Race,” where Jalapeño Hannah crossed the finish line as the winner.
A perfect mix of sunshine, school spirit, and laughter—what a fantastic day at New Outlook Academy!
