The Summit Academy Garden Club has been hard at work planting strawberries! Students enjoyed getting their hands dirty while learning valuable gardening skills, teamwork, and responsibility.
We can’t wait to watch the garden grow and see the results of all their hard work. Great job to our Garden Club members for making our campus a little sweeter this spring!

As the season comes to an end, we are incredibly proud of our team and the growth they have shown — not only on the field, but as teammates and young men. Their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship have made this a great season to remember.

Our talented students at New Outlook Academy have been hard at work in the bakery class, creating delicious homemade sweet treats! 
Beyond the fun, students are building valuable life skills—following directions, measuring, working as a team, and gaining confidence in the kitchen. These are skills they can carry with them into everyday life and future opportunities.

April brought more than just warmer weather—it brought joy, creativity, and celebration! Once again, Beverley’s PGH filled the room with laughter and fun with a beautiful spring-themed birthday event for our girls.
They had the opportunity to design their own unique flowers, using pictures, colors, and positive words and sayings that reflected how they feel—each one as special and individual as they are. The creativity didn’t stop there! Everyone also created stunning bouquets of flowers to enjoy.
As spring reminds us, this season is all about new beginnings, growth, and blossoming into who we are meant to be—and our girls showed just that!
New Outlook Academy proudly hosted its 3rd Quarter Student Awards Ceremony, celebrating student achievement, growth, and positive contributions across our school community.
Students were recognized for accomplishments such as Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, Student of the Month/Quarter, and character awards including Kindness, Positive Peer, and Most Improved. Photography and Culture Club participants were also honored for their creativity and engagement.
This quarter’s celebration featured a special visit from Y108’s Amanda Gorecki and a fun wheel lottery game, where students had the chance to win restaurant gift cards.
The event reinforced our commitment to supporting every student’s success and recognizing the dedication that helps them reach their full potential.
New Outlook Academy and Y108 Pittsburgh have once again partnered to provide an incredible hands-on opportunity for students. This time, Angelinna G. stepped into the spotlight, experiencing the exciting world of radio broadcasting firsthand as a guest on-air. During her visit, she explored what it takes to run a live show and got a behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced environment of a country radio station. Angelinna also shared her personal journey at New Outlook Academy, reflecting on how her experiences have helped her grow in confidence and realize that she can achieve anything she sets her mind to.

New Outlook Academy’s Culture Club took a trip to the vibrant island of Jamaica!
Students explored the rich culture of Jamaica by diving into its music, food, and games. They learned about the history and influence of reggae and dancehall music, discovering how these genres have shaped culture around the world. 
To bring the experience to life, students tried a traditional Jamaican treat called Festivals—a slightly sweet, fluffy fried bread that was a big hit! They also got active by playing a popular Jamaican game called Dandy Shandy, adding fun and teamwork to the day.
It was an exciting and engaging class filled with new experiences, great food, and lots of smiles as students explored a new culture together!
